Only about 300 buildings out of the 14,000 or so that have been LEED certified have earned the top Platinum status, so the challenge wasn’t an easy one. O’Connor explained that many of the features of the building—such as low-VOC materials, fiber-optic solar lighting, and the geothermal HVAC system—end up adding costs to the construction.

The building is extremely impressive. And OWC as a company is top notch as well.
